Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has a lot to be proud of. It ranked third overall and received the highest scores among non-premium brands in the 2017 J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). The powerhouse Japanese auto brand also took home seven out of 18 segment awards.
However, the real winner was the Toyota Camry. Hailed as the Most Dependable Vehicle Overall, out of 100 vehicles, the Camry reported the lowest average number of problems.
Other Toyotas applauded by the review included the Toyota FJ Cruiser in the Compact SUV class and Toyota Prius in the Compact Car group. The Toyota Venza and Avalon wowed in the Midsize SUV, and Large Car categories, respectively, and the Toyota Prius v was dubbed the highest-ranking Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle, while the Toyota Sienna took home the top accolade in the Minivan category.
