How to Safely Transport Holiday Foods

The holidays are a time of year that most people look forward to for a number of reasons. This is the time when you connect with friends and family. Food is a big part of these celebrations. If you're traveling with food this season, keep these tips in mind to make sure your car stays stain-free.

Cover the back seat of your car with a blanket or towel before putting bowls or casserole dishes in your vehicle. The blanket will catch the spills so that your car's interior won't be ruined. A sleeping bag is also great for housing your dishes and keeping the food warm during the drive.

If you've prepared holiday cookies or tarts, wrap them in plastic and place them in a sandwich bag. This prevents crumbs from getting on the seats and keeps the desserts from drying out during the trip.

It's also a good idea to have a passenger sit in the back seat to monitor your holiday treats and keep them from spilling if you have to stop suddenly or make a sharp turn. Happy holidays!
